Vandalism, Looting After Vigil for Unarmed Teen Shot By Police

MISSOURI - Tensions over the shooting of an unarmed African-American teenager by police are boiling over in Missouri.

Police in riot gear stood alert as looting broke out overnight in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson.

A few thousand people crammed the streets for a vigil for 18-year-old Michael Brown.

Police say Brown was shot multiple times Saturday afternoon in a scuffle involving a Ferguson police officer and two people.

After the vigil, people looted local businesses and lit small fire.

There were no immediate reports of injuries.

Leaders in the area are calling for calm, as the investigation into Brown's death continues.
