CORPUS CHRISTI -- Police raided several area smoke shops Friday afternoon and say they found synthetic pot, being sold at the stores.
Police are calling it "Operation Imitation Nation".
They raided 8 smoke shops in the Coastal Bend and made at least 3 arrests regarding the operation.
Police charged, 29 year old Richard Hinojosa, 24 year old Audra Athew, and 34 year old Leticia Carrillo with 1 count of manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance, which is a 2nd degree felony.
Police haven't released the exact amount of the synthetic pot they confiscated yet.
They expect to have those numbers by Tuesday.
They have, however, seized a total of $21,000 from the raids.
They arrested 3 other people during the raid, but those were for warrant charges, unrelated to this operation.
We went out to several of the shops today, but found most of them closed, their doors locked.
