CORPUS CHRISTI - A 22-year-old man is behind bars for intoxication manslaughter, after a single vehicle crash Monday morning that killed another 22-year-old man.
Police say Michael Valenzuela was driving north on Kostoryz and lost control of his car as he tried to turn left on Staples Street. The car hit the curb and rolled over, landing on the driver's side.
The 22-year-old man killed was a rear passenger. He was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. Two women passengers were not hurt.
Police say the Valenzuela was in possession of marijuana and may have been speeding at the time of the accident.
Police also say Valenzuela was intoxicated at the time of the accident. After being evaluated at Spohn Shoreline Hospital, Valenzuela was taken to jail.
