ROBSTOWN - A deadly fire overnight took the lives of three people.
The Robstown Fire Department and Annaville Fire Department rushed to the scene of a house fire in the 600 block of Petronila Road.
A 38-year-old woman and her two sons, ages 8 and 13, were found dead in their bedrooms.
A nephew of the woman, who was in the home at the time of the fire, was able to make it out of the house without any injures.
The deceased woman and her husband recently divorced. He was visiting family in Mexico when he heard about the news. He drove up with the oldest son.
Around 9:30 last night, the power went out. The sister of the woman, and her neighbors, said that she lit candles for a source of light.
Firefighters say the blaze was likely caused by a candle in the living room; however, the investigation is ongoing.
