CORPUS CHRISTI - Our roller coaster of temperature changes will continue for today as we look for afternoon highs to surpass the 80 degree mark for most locations in South Texas. Climatological average highs for this time of year are in the lower 70s, so we will be in excess of 10+ degrees for today and on into the weekend.
Today, we will look for variable clouds and sun for most of the afternoon with a few showers mainly along the coastline. Rainfall amounts will not be impressive and most locations will be left out of the sparse shower or two. There will be some areas out to the west near Benavides, Concepcion, and Freer that could see more sunshine later this afternoon and evening, but overall clouds should roll in by late tonight once again. Winds will be fairly light out of the southeast around 6-12mph.
Tonight, fog will be a concern again with light winds expected over most of the Coastal Bend so be sure to exercise caution if you will be on the roadways early in the morning and as you take the kids to school. An overnight low of 66 and very mild temperatures will be in store tonight.
A weak front that was progged to enter the Coastal Bend on Tuesday now looks to wash out near our region or just to our north and will not provide a whole lot of relief for temperatures or the rainfall department. For now, I will drop temperatures only a few degrees and leave chances of rain as isolated on Tuesday.
Have a great weekend.
