WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - The Universal All Stars were eliminated from Little League World Series contention with a 10-2 loss at the hands of Nashville, TN on Saturday afternoon at a sold out Lamade Stadium. The announced attendance: 19,300.
Universal's (Southwest) second defeat of the World Series came in what was a tight ballgame early on. The game was scoreless into the fourth inning until Southeast put three runs on the board in the top of the frame.
Nashville extended it's lead to 6-0 before Universal could get on the board when Jito Sosa scored on a wild pitch, making it 6-1. Southeast added a grand slam in the final inning to take a 10-1 advantage. Jared Cruz's solo homer in the bottom of the sixth made it a final of 10-2.
Universal (Southwest) will play one more game in Williamsport -- a consolation game vs Australia on Monday.
