CORPUS CHRISTI - the Texas Department of Transportation invites the public to attend a public hearing and open house to review and comment on proposed alternatives for improving the Crosstown Expressway (SH 286) from South Padre Island Drive (SH 358) to approximately one mile south of Weber Rd. (FM 43).
The open house will allow the public to view exhibits and to discuss the improvements being considered, anytime between 5:00p.m. and 6:30p.m. The public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m.
The proposed improvements include an additional lane in each direction on the existing Crosstown Expressway from South Padre Island Drive (SH 358) to approximately Saratoga Blvd. (SH 357) and construction of a new highway from Saratoga Blvd. to just south of Weber Rd. (FM 43).
This new highway section, similar to the existing Crosstown Expressway, would include main lanes and frontage roads in each direction, on and off ramps, and overpasses (grade separation) at the intersection with J.C. Elliot Landfill and at Weber Rd. (FM 43). The project would be built in phases.
For additional information about this meeting, please contact Rickey Dailey at (361) 808-2544. Persons requesting language interpreters or other special communication or accommodation needs are encouraged to contact (361) 808-2544 by April 2, 2013. TxDOT will make every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs.
Project specific information will be available at the Corpus Christi District Office. Written comments may be mailed to Christopher Amy at 1701 South Padre Island Drive, Corpus Christi, TX 78416.
