CORPUS CHRISTI - We've learned two more horses found in bad shape on some property in Robstown will have to be euthanized. Yesterday, the owner gave his permission for another horse to be put down. That would bring the total to 5 horses at the property that have died.
A Robstown Animal Control officer and a veterinarian are overseeing the care of the animals after 20 were noticed last week.
The owner, Sam Ruegg Jr., admitted he's hit hard times financial times lately, plus his wife just passed away. A hearing is underway today to see if Ruegg will face charges.
