KENTUCKY (WLEX) - Police have released more information on a deadly shooting on an eastern Kentucky college campus.
Police responded to a report of shots fired at the Hazard Community & Technical College around 6 p.m. Tuesday. When officers arrived, they found two people dead and a juvenile wounded in the parking lot outside the First Federal Center. The shooter was not in the area, but officials locked down the campus as a precaution.
Police say Caitlin Cornett and her uncle, Jackie Cornett, were both shot and killed. The unidentified juvenile was airlifted to UK Hospital for treatment. Officials have not released any information on that victim's condition.
Dalton Stidham turned himself in at a nearby Kentucky State Police post a short time later. Police say they don't know what led up to the shooting, but say it appears it stemmed from a domestic dispute.
