CORPUS CHRISTI - Eugene Bolin just got back from the emergency room and is recovering from some medical issues; but a truck that slammed into his house around 4:30 Sunday morning almost sent him back to the hospital.
"I was almost asleep, you know?" he said, "I was in bed and it knocked me out of my bed."
Bolin said he looked out the window and saw the truck in his front yard.
Police say a man somehow lost control of his vehicle on Lantana, swerved off the road, hit several vehicles and slammed into Bolin's home.
"I come out here and the guy stands here, gets out of the truck, he spits, he gets back in and takes off dragging all of this," said Bolin pointing to scattered debris.
Bolin said the hit and run totalled his brand new Nissan 376, damaged his truck and caused his roof to collapse on top of his vehicles.
"He had to be messed up or something," Bolin said. "He took off through that ditch."
Bolin and his wife, Paula, said they've lived in their house for about 50 years and knew it would only be a matter of time until something like this happened.
"Nobody goes the speed limit. Nobody stops at the stop signs. They come off that freeway 60-70 miles an hour," Paula said.
The suspect apparently took off down Skyline. Although police caught up with the vehicle, they have not tracked down the suspect.
