Trash and Brush Fire at TxDOT Maintenance Facility

CORPUS CHRISTI - Officials are investigating the cause of a fire at a Texas Department of Transportation maintenance yard near Bates and N. Padre Island Drive.

The fire started in an area where TxDOT piles up trash and debris that was picked up by roadside crews. Embers from the fire blew onto a property next door and started a small brush fire.

Fire crews are still in the area keeping an eye on hot spots.
