ILLINOIS - High winds may be to blame for sending dozens of rail cars off the tracks Monday in Illinois.
A freight train derailed shortly after five o'clock Monday night, in Laura, Illinois, about 25 miles northwest of Peoria.
45 rail cars went off the tracks.
The derailed train also took down nearby power lines with it.
Power has since been restored to the nearly 1,000 residents affected.
Authorities say straight line winds were likely the cause of the derailment.
