CORPUS CHRISTI - For the second time in less than a year, a prominent local family is dealing with a tragedy.
Friday evening, Scott Humpal confirmed on his Facebook page that his son, Tad, died in his sleep last night.
Police and paramedics were called to the family home near the Corpus Christi Botanical Gardens around 2:00pm Friday after his family found him unconscious.
The family told police the last time anyone saw Tad alive was around 10:00pm Thursday night.
There is no cause of death yet.
That will likely be determined by toxicology testing, according to police.
Tad's death comes less than 11 months after the family's plane crashed in Colorado on a ski trip to Steamboat Springs.
The pilot and scott's wife, Gaby, were killed.
Scott and the three kids were hospitalized, but have since recovered from their injuries.
