CORPUS CHRISTI -- Motorcyclists from across the Coastal Bend joined together this morning to collect toys for kids in need.

Organizers of the 28th annual Toys for Tots Motorcycle Run say the event gets bigger every year...which means more presents for children this Christmas.

Hundreds of men and women, on bikes, rode from Texas A&M Corpus Christi to Concrete Street Ampitheatre.

With their bikes and helmets all decked out and toys in tow, the crowd made a positive statement to the community.

Rusty Means said, "Just because we have tattoos, doesn't mean we're big bad bikers. We all have hearts too and children are innocent."

Another participant said, "Well you know, we all have a heart and we're here for the kids and all the kids in need. We're happy to do it."

Organizers expect to collect 3,000 to 4,000 toys from this event alone.

After the ride, participants also enjoyed food, music and an auction.
