THREE RIVERS -- If the Nueces and Frio Rivers crest as high as forecasters are predicting Saturday night, the Tips RV Park might be under water.
"This time it's looking like it might be an entire park thing," said Janet Turner, who remembers the flooding in 2010 when the rivers crested at 25-feet, less than the 40-feet that is expected Saturday.
Forecasters said the rivers have risen dramatically over the past few days because of all the rainfall near the watershed last weekend. Residents estimate water levels have spiked at least five or six feet since Thursday.
Jan Duke's RV sits right at the water's edge, and after seeing what happened a few years ago she's not taking any chances. "I'm just trying to be prepared so that if it [the water] starts coming up into the yard I can get someone to pull me out."
