THREE RIVERS - The man wanted in connection with a murder outside a Three Rivers motel Wednesday night was captured late Thursday in Houston.
Nicholas Jenkins was arrested at a Houston hospital, where he showed up complaining about having hallucinations.
Hospital officials notified his family, who then called police to tell them where he was.
Jenkins is accused of fatally stabbing 23 year old Rafael Garcia of Corpus Christi outside the Best Western around 6:00pm Wednesday evening.
Garcia died at the scene.
Both Garcia and Jenkins were contractors, sent to Three Rivers to work on the Valero refinery nearby.
However, police say that even though they worked for the same company, they didn't know each other.
At this time, the motive for the stabbing is unclear.
Investigators believe after the stabbing in the parking lot, Jenkins stole a van from another man at knifepoint and drove to Houston.
The van was found on fire there a few hours later.
Jenkins is expected to be magistrated in Harris County on Friday morning and then returned to Three Rivers.
