Oil Field Workers Killed in Crash With School Bus

LIVE OAK COUNTY - Three people were killed in an early morning accident involving a Three Rivers Independent School District bus and a passenger van.

According to DPS the bus was traveling East bound on Highway 72 when it slowed down to enter the Lago Vista RV park. A van travelling the same direction rear ended the bus.

There were twelve children on the bus. Seven were taken to the hospital by private vehicles with unknown injuries. The rest were transported safely to school.

A total of seven people were in the van. The driver of the van died at the scene along with two other passengers. The other four were taken to hospitals in Jordanton, Beeville, and Corpus Christi.

Apparently, the people in the van were oil field workers that had just finished their shift.
