CORPUS CHRISTI -- Three people are in jail today on aggravated assault charges after a man was stabbed on Corpus Christi's Southside early this morning.
Jason Lara, 28, Robert Vidal, 24, and Maria Vidal, 46 are being held in the Nueces County Jail.
According to police, the trio got into an argument with two other people on the 700-block of Collingswood Drive.
An altercation ensued, and a the victim was stabbed multiple times in the chest and back.
Police haven't released the victim's name.
The victim and another person flagged down a police officer who was in the area responding to an accident. The officer called for an ambulance, and the victim was taken to Spohn Memorial Hospital, according to police.
He is expected to survive.
Police said the victim and the suspects were "acquaintances," but would not elaborate. They did not comment on a possible motive for the attack, and said they are still investigating the incident.
