CORPUS CHRISTI - Federal prosecutors are pursuing conspiracy charges against at least three Nueces County men accused of selling cocaine and heroin. The indictments against Jose Manuel Zuniga, Ruben Esparza and Ernesto Villarreal were unsealed this morning.
According to prosecutors, the men conspired to distribute 28 grams (just under an ounce) of heroin.
Zuniga was arrested yesterday in Corpus Christi. Esparza and Villarreal, both from Robstown, are already in custody in Houston.
The men from Robstown are also accused of conspiring to distribute more than a kilo of heroin back in 2011 and 2012, plus charges for trying to buy a significant amount of cocaine.
There's no information available on other defendants under indictment because they haven't been arrested yet.
