Three injured in 5-Car Pileup

CORPUS CHRISTI - A speeding driver's being blamed for a pileup that injured two adults and a toddler this afternoon. Police say the driver of a green Chevy slammed into an suv at a red light along S. Staples and S.P.I.D.

Right after the crash, a 2-year-old in one car was taken to a nearby shop to be checked over for injuries. Just how badly he or she was injured is not clear.

It took some time to clean up the crash that closed down two lanes of traffic.

Corpus Christi Police Lieutenant James Gray summed the situation up nicely. "It's a holiday. Be patient, take your time. Look out for the other guy."

The driver of the truck was given a ticket for speeding.
