BISHOP - A Nueces County deputy constable was able to keep 88 pounds of marijuana being smuggled into the country. Sunday night the deputy constable noticed a car headed the wrong way on Highway 77.
The driver didn't pull over, but lead the officer on a chase with speeds of 125 miles per hour. The driver eventually went off into a field where all three guys inside the car bailed out.
Officers were able to tase the driver and arrest him, then went after the others. It took an hour and a half to track them down with the help of a DPS helicopter.
They later found two backpacks of marijuana in the trunk.
