Thieves Go On Island Stealing Spree

CORPUS CHRISTI -- They almost got away with it...almost.

But, police say an expired tag ruined the fun for two men and a woman accused of stealing from people's open garages and cars on the Island today.

Officers pulled over the truck on Yardarm and found everything from fishing poles to bicycles in the back.

As they began to investigate, the driver took off running and jumped into the canal.

Police caught him and arrested the other two suspects as well.

Officers say the three also stole a car.

If you live in the Dasmarinas area, you may want to check your car and garage to see if you're missing anything.

Make sure to file a report with police if you're a victim.
