Thieves Cut Safe from Times Market

CORPUS CHRISTI - A group of thieves who cut the safe free from the floor of a Super Times Market this week had some trouble figuring out what to do with it afterwards.

Surveillance video from the store shows sparks flying as a group of men use a concrete cutting saw behind the counter early Monday morning. Two men then work together to push the safe over and slide it along the floor to a back room.

The men used some type of cart to get the heavy safe into the back lot near Prescott and Gollihar. It took a few minutes for them to figure out what to do next. The thieves decided to make a hasty retreat through a hole cut into a chain link fence.

Management tells us the safe held several thousand dollars in cash.
