CORPUS CHRISTI - Two CCPD officers responded to the Corpus Christi Athletic Club in the 2100 block of Airline Road shortly before 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening after an observant manager spotted the same Dodge Charger that had broken into two cars yesterday had returned.
She observed one occupant get out of the car and look into two parked cars.
Officers arrived and detained the two suspects, 31-year-old Michael Castillo and 38-year-old Elizabeth Garcia, when they were about to leave.
Inside the Charger, officers located seven or eight backpacks full of property, a checkbook, a driver's license belonging to a victim, and several other items that were obviously stolen.
Officers contacted two of the victims and confirmed that their items had been stolen in auto burglaries from IH-37 and at Niko's on Saratoga just yesterday.
Both suspects were charged with theft for the confirmed stolen property they had along with two counts of Possession and Use of Fraudulent Identifying Information for the checkbook and driver's license.
Garcia had an outstanding Probation Violation for Larceny and was additionally charged.
Both officers were tied up for several hours tagging the large amount of property located in the vehicle.
