Thief Steals Part of South Side Family's Christmas

CORPUS CHRISTI -- Walk into the Rosales/Rice family's home on the southside and Christmas comes alive.
There are a couple of trees, too many stockings to count and the family loves Christmas ornaments.
But outside, there's something missing.
Quite a few things actually - two decorated reindeer, a lighted Christmas tree and two large inflatables of Santa and Snoopy.
Carmen Rice said, "They were there on Saturday. We took the dogs for a walk at 11:30 at night and wake up in the morning at 8, 8:30 and it's all gone."
Rice and her boyfriend George Rosales are both single parents.
This is their first Christmas living together with their four children.
So, they went all out and spent an entire day decorating.
Rice's son Conor said, "We kind of decked out and now that they took a lot of our stuff, it's not that cool."
The thief left a giraffe and tree behind but stole everything else, around $500 worth of decorations.
In the family's home though, the Christmas spirit is still alive.
Rosales said, "We got touched by the Grinch, but we're not going to let it hold us back or keep us down."
The family can't afford to buy new stuff, but they decorated the kids' playroom and still light up what's left of their outdoor decorations.
It's just not the same though.
Conor said, "And if the person is watching please return the stuff, thank you."
But if the decorations aren't returned, the family will buy new ones next year.
