The Big Bloom Brings Eco-fun to the Botanical Gardens

CORPUS CHRISTI - The South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center's annual mega plant sale and garden festival, known as The Big Bloom, is set for Saturday, April 5th. The event will happen from 9 AM to 5 PM at the Gardens & Nature Center grounds, located at 8545 S. Staples.

The Big Bloom includes orchid and plumeria sales, xeriscape and native landscape plants, and tropicals, plus specialty plant and yard art vendors. Returning popular entertainment features include butterfly and lady bug releases, reptile shows, visits with exotic parrots and afternoon music.

New eco-entertainment for kids and adults provided by Texas Master Naturalists, include nature walk-and-talks on the Mary Hope Brennecke Nature Trail, birding scopes on the Wetlands Awareness Boardwalk, kids touch-and-learn projects, and the Easter Bunny in Monkey Mansion Tree House.

During The Big Bloom, visitors may shop and tour the Botanical Gardens for just $1 per person and parking is free.
