RICE - Investigators are trying to reconstruct the events that led to the fatal shootings of a rural North Texas couple and their three children.
The five were found dead in their home in the small farming community of Rice, 40 miles south of Dallas. Navarro County Sheriff Elmer Tanner says the deaths are believed to be a quadruple murder-suicide.
Authorities have yet to determine who fired the shots though the children's father, 33-year-old Israel Alvarez, was arrested less than two weeks ago on a family violence charge. Also found dead were 33-year-old Guadalupe Ronquillo-Ovalle and their children, ages 4, 8 and 12.
