CORPUS CHRISTI - Testimony is expected to begin this afternoon in the trial of Eric Dimick. He's the last of three young men to stand trial for the kidnapping and rape of an 11 year old girl back in December 2012.
The young girl was grabbed off a southside street as she was riding her bike. Police say she was sexually assaulted and later released on Park Road 22.
According to the arrest report, Eric Dimick told a witness that he, Jacob Musich, and Colton Visor planned to kidnap someone that night and just picked the girl at random.
Just over a week ago, Dimick's attorney unsuccessfully tried to get the wording of the indictment against his client changed.
The attorney claimed the indictment was written in a way to sway the jury against Dimick even before the trial began.
Back in March, Dimick's attorney also failed in an attempt to get the case moved out of Nueces County because of excessive media coverage.
