CORPUS CHRISTI - Cloud cover all over South Texas has led to a relatively cool day over the Coastal Bend as temperatures have only topped out in the upper 50s to some lower 60s. Winds have been relatively light all day long as well out of the north-northeast at 5-10mph. A few residents even got some light drizzle over the area with Port Aransas reporting four hundredths (.04'') of an inch this afternoon.

Clouds will stick around for most of the area tonight and will not let temperatures fluctuate too much. We'll go for the mid to upper 50s here in the city with some lower 50s and even some upper 40s for our northern counties. Patchy dense fog will be possible tonight over the region, so use extra caution on the roadways as the mist could cause some roads to become very slick.

Friday, we will spend the first half of the day mostly cloudy to overcast with a few showers and some isolated thunderstorms in the area ahead of our next front. The front should move through the entire region by 2PM and still allow temperatures to reach the lower to mid-70s. Clouds will clear out temporarily for the afternoon and the evening before they roll back in by Saturday afternoon. Rainfall amounts will range from only a trace to around a quarter of an inch for some lucky residents. The better chance of rain is situated to the north and east.

Another shot at some rain is still in the forecast for New Year's Eve and New Year's Day as abundant Pacific moisture will stream into South Texas and interact with another frontal boundary late Monday into Tuesday and make for overcast and generally cool conditions with showers lingering over the entire area beginning late Sunday and on into early Wednesday of next week.

Have a great day!
