Teenager Bit By Shark in Galveston

GALVESTON - A Texas teenager is recovering after a shark encounter in Galveston this weekend.

She was bitten over the weekend on West Beach, one of the most popular spots on the island.

14-year-old Mikaela Medina said she didn't know what happened at first, all she said is she felt something slam into her back.

She actually didn't realize she had been bitten by a shark until she got back to shore.

Mikaela is just fine, fortunately, a family friend who's a doctor took care of her wounds and she didn't even need any stitches.
