CORPUS CHRISTI - A teenager now waits to learn his sentence for killing a man he ran over on the beach earlier this year. Dahlton Osborne, 19, plead guilty for the crash that injured a woman and man back on January 12th. Adam Reed, 41, died from his injuries.
As the sentencing phase of the trial got underway this morning, Osborns' friends testified today that they were at a bonfire on the beach drinking the night of the accident. Three friends told the court Osborn was driving when when they saw a person and felt a "bump."
Police say Osborn fled to Port Aransas and appeared to be drunk when they caught up with him. The sentencing phase continues this afternoon.
