CORPUS CHRISTI -- Police have arrested a 17-year-old believed to be linked to 3 auto burglaries near Gollihar and McAardle early Friday morning.
"The door was open and the glass was broke, I came to look at the truck and there was several things missing," one car owner said.
He was just one of several people who had a few things stolen out of his car, things that weren't cheap.
"A tool box, probably about 7 to 8 hundred dollars worth, and a GPS and I really don't know what else is missing, I haven't gone through the truck yet, I'm waiting for them," the man said.
Investigators took photos of the busted window at one location, just a few blocks from two other locations that were hit. Police say witness information lead them to Carlo Gonzales, 17.
"Witnesses say they saw Gonzales walking up and down the 4900 block of Hamlett where he was checking car doors to see if they were unlocked, well when he found one that was, he sat inside the car and moved some things around, but say he didn't take anything from the vehicle.
Police say they spotted Gonzales minutes after the call came in and arrested him right down the street in connection to the car burglaries. As for the truck owner he's stuck with the bill for his busted window.
"The glass and all that is about 250 dollars worth of repair for the glass," he added.
Police say when they arrested Gonzales he didn't have any property on him and may have ditched it before officers caught him. Gonzales was taken to jail and charged with auto burglary.
