CORPUS CHRISTI - Miranda Garcia, 17, is accused of robbing two Stripes stores on Padre Island at gunpoint last night. According to police, Garcia first visited one location on Whitecap Boulevard.
The clerk complied with her demands and handed over some cash. Garcia then fled in a white 2008 Nissan Altima towards town.
Police say she then robbed the Stripes at Park Road 22 and Highway 361 in the same fashion.
This time, police arrived at the store before the suspect left. They used patrol cars to keep the Nissan, parked partially in a handicapped spot, from leaving.
Officers arrested Garcia once they got inside the store. The clerk told police Garcia was just getting ready to leave when they pulled up.
We're told she got a grand total of $8 from the second store.
Garcia's now facing 2 counts of aggravated robbery that each carry a penalty of 5-99 years in prison if convicted.
