CORPUS CHRISTI - A 16-year-old boy is accused of assaulting a police officer who was just trying to get control of the teen also accused of hitting his older sister.
The sister called police to an apartment at Holly and Weber Road to report her brother had hit her in the face, pushed her to the ground, and trashed the unit.
The officer had already filled out a report when he noticed the teen suspect in the area.
According to police, the 16-year-old got into a struggle with the officer and tried to grabbed his gun belt and taser. The officer suffered scratches to his neck and face.
Another officer showed up to help get the teen under control. The boy was taken to the Juvenile Justice Center on assault charges.
