Teams Show Off Ultimate Strength and Skill

CORPUS CHRISTI- At least a dozen teams showed off their strength and skill Saturday and all for a good cause.

The first ever fire truck pull took place in the parking lot of La Palmera mall.

The tug-of-war contest featured teams of ten people as they sweated and strained as they pulled a full-size fire engine weighing several tons.

The contest is all for Special Olympics and organizers say these events are very important to them.
"What we try to do is we put on events that we don't charge our athletes to come to our events to participate or whatnot. so these fundraisers are very important to the south Texas area and our athletes.", said Alice Fulton-Garza

This event appears to be a hit as they raised over $5,000 in the inaugural event, exceeding all estimates.
