FALFURRIAS - A taxidermist in Falfurrias is working to reconstruct what's locals are calling a Chupacabra. The animal was first seen in thick brush a few miles northeast of Falfurrias about a month ago.
The homeowner thinks it was in the area looking for food. One photo shows an encounter with a cat that didn't seem too scared.
Someone shot and killed the animal, then just left it alone. A veterinarian and a taxidermist describe it as a cross between a red wolf and a coyote.
Taxidermist David Galindo says the animal brought to him is about one month old, weighing around 20 pounds.
He hopes the reconstructed animal will go on display in a museum.
