CORPUS CHRISTI - If you were thinking about getting a new appliance this was the weekend to do it. It's the state's annual Energy Star sales tax holiday.
The tax break applies to most Energy Star qualified appliances. Energy Star products can save up to 75 percent in energy costs. Best Buys says the stocked extra up extra appliances.
"You're average washing machine used to use any where from 30 to 50 gallons of water to wash a load of clothes. Today, they use as little of 12 to 20 of water. So it's quite a bit of savings," says Tom Howk, General Manager of Pacific Kitchen and Home.
If you didn't get a chance to make it out to the store this weekend, you still have some time.
The tax break continues through Monday.
