SWAT Standoff on Military Drive

CORPUS CHRISTI - A man with possible mental issues help police at bay for three hours inside his home last night.

Corpus Christi police were called to the home on Military Drive for a suicidal man, but when they arrived he refused to come out.

Officers closed of the street as they worked to convince the man to come out peacefully. There was a possibility he had a knife, police definitely saw he had a steel pipe in his hands.

He never threatened anyone directly and eventually threw the pipe outside the home.

SWAT officers entered the home just before 8 p.m. to take him into custody.

At this point, he probably won't face any charges. He was taken to a hospital for a mental evaluation.
