LIVE OAK COUNTY -- At 7:00 this morning an SUV crashed into a tree in Live Oak County on US 59 about 10-12 miles north of George West.
According to the Department of Public Safety, three children and their mother died in the crash.
One man, DPS identified as the father, survived and went to the hospital with injuries.
DPS says the driver who died at the scene of the accident, was Joannie Lopez.
Her three children, who didn't survive, were 3 1/2 year old Andrew Joaquin Lopez, Jr., 2 1/2 year old Alonzo Joel Lopez and 1 year old Christopher Elardio Lopez.
A DPS spokesman says Lopez hit a large Live Oak tree on the side of the road head-on.
The spokesman says the SUV caught fire and the mom and her three children burned inside the SUV.
The spokesman said the father, Andrew Joaquin Lopez, went to the hospital with internal injuries and broken bones.
Investigators say fatigue may have played a role in the accident.
