Suter Pleads Not Guilty to Hit and Run Crash

CORPUS CHRISTI - The local environmental activist accused of hitting a bicyclist on Ocean Drive and leaving the scene was in court today.

88-year old Pat Suter plead not guilty to charges of "causing an accident involving serious bodily injury." The judge set her trial date for early December.

Police say Suter hit attorney Richard Leshin. The driver in the accident did not stop. It took police a couple of days to track down Suter's car.

When questioned she told police she thought she hit a trash can.
