ARANSAS COUNTY - The Texas Supreme Court has cleared the way for Aransas County Court-at-Law judge William Adams to return to the bench.
Tuesday morning the court lifted a suspension order that was issued last year when Judge Adam's daughter Hillary posted video online showing her father beating her with a belt.
The story made international headlines when 6 News broke it last November.
Back in September the State Commission on Judicial Conduct gave Adams a public reprimand after they investigated the incident.
The judge remained on suspension until today when the State Supreme Court lifted the suspension.
His daughter Hillary was not happy with the court's decision.
She said, "I have nothing but contempt for people who allow a man of that evilness to remain in office, ruling over people he so very obviously mistreated. I am appalled to live in Texas, I'm...no not appalled, I'm embarrassed to live in Texas."
Aransas county officials say now that the suspension order has been lifted Judge Adams can return to the bench anytime.
They also say he has not contacted them yet to say when he plans to return.
The judge does not have any cases scheduled until next Wednesday.
