Suspects Get Away Leaving Behind 400 Lbs of Pot

400 lb Pot Bust Near Banquete

CORPUS CHRISTI - Nueces County Deputies made a surprising discovery Wednesday, during a routine traffic stop.

Deputies were working traffic on FM 666, near Banquete, when they saw a vehicle make a sudden u-turn in an attempt to avoid the deputies.

Officers chased the SUV until it went off the road, into a ditch. Five people jumped out of the vehicle and ran off.

More than 400 pounds of marijuana was found in the SUV. The suspects were not caught.
