CORPUS CHRISTI - A man is behind bars after police say he burglarized a local business, and then ran from police.
Officers were called to Jean Street and Delphine Drive overnight to check out the report of a suspicious person.
When police got there, they saw a man, dressed in all black, running away from the police car. He was dropping envelopes as he fled.
The man ran to the west side of the Time Warner building at 4060 SPID, dropping more envelopes. The man was caught when he trapped himself in a dead-end and was unable to climb a ten-foot-tall, chain link, fence with barbed wire.
The envelopes, the man dropped, had Appliance Mart printed on them. The business, which is nearby, was checked by officers, and found to have the front door glass shattered. The building had been burglarized.
Adam Albert Ybanez, who would not tell police his name, was arrested and charged with Burglary of a Building, Evading Arrest, Unlawful Use of Criminal Instruments, and Failure to Identify.
