CORPUS CHRISTI -- Artists and film-makers are hanging ten at the House of Rock tonight.

The Artshow-Short Film Showcase started at 7:00.

It's an opportunity for local surfers to show the public a different side of their creativity through art and movies.

Organizers say the event is a looking glass into the lives and inspirations of surfers.

Some of the short films featured surfing from Texas, Mexico and Hawaii.

The art work also attracted an audience.

Artist Matthew Barker said, "I think it's a huge benefit for the city. It shows people stuff is happening and we should get more art shows happening downtown and bring people downtown for art."
