Superheroes Needed for CASA 5K Run/Walk

CORPUS CHRISTI - Every child needs a hero, but an abused child needs a superhero.

That's the message of CASA of the Coastal Bend. As one of the largest volunteer organizations in the country, the Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children offers training to volunteers, who then advocate for abused and neglected children in the court system - essentially, becoming the voice of a child in court. Their desire is to find permanent homes for foster children in crisis throughout Nueces, San Patricio, and Aransas Counties.

In order to raise funds for the work they do, as well as highlight the need for additional volunteers, CASA is organizing a 5K Run/Walk to be held at Heritage Park on Saturday, May 3rd at 8 AM. Runners of all ages are invited to wear a cape, a mask, or their favorite superhero t-shirt and let their super powers shine in support of CASA.

For more information on CASA, including how to register for the event, visit www.casaofthecoastalbend.com or call (361) 884-2272.
