WASHINGTON - About 800,000 rechargeable batteries used in Summer Infant video monitors are being recalled.
The battery in the handheld video monitor can overheat and rupture, posing a burn hazard to consumers.
So far, Summer Infant has received more than twenty complaints, including incidents of smoke and minor property damage.
The monitor can still be used with the power cord.
Consumers should remove the battery and contact Summer Infant for a replacement.
Walmart, Target, Babies "R" Us, and Amazon all sold the products.
