AFGHANISTAN -- Afghan police say at least four people are dead after a suicide bomber driving a vehicle detonated his explosives at the gate of a U.S. military base in eastern Afghanistan today.
According to police officials, the attacker and three Afghans died in the attack in Khost.
The taliban claimed responsibility for the attack targeting the base next to a military airport.
NATO officials said the bomber did not penetrate Camp Chapman's perimeter.
Three years ago, a Jordanian with links to Al Qaeda killed seven C.I.A employees at the same base.
