KINGSVILLE - The Texas A&M Kingsville Police Department says they've made an arrest for a second reported sexual assault on campus.
Officials say the suspect is not connected to another sexual assault reported over the weekend. Tomas Solis, 21, is being held on charges of aggravated sexual assault and possession of marijuana.
According to police, the victim came forward with the allegations within the past 48 hours. Police say the victim went to Solis' dorm room, but he would not let her leave.
Solis is not allowed back on campus.
In the first reported incident, a female freshman claimed she was assaulted by a 20-year-old man she met at a party last Friday night. For now, police are not allowing that man back on campus as they await the results of a rape kit sent off for testing.
