CORPUS CHRISTI - Local Stripes Convenient Stores had an amazing year raising money for the health of moms and babies.
The stores managed to raise $240,000.00 in just a month!
If you think that's pretty impressive, Stripes Stores in Texas raised $860,000.00, beating their goal of $850,000.00.
During the month of December, customers purchased $1, March of Dimes paper cut -outs, which resulted in the record breaking contribution to the organization.
Over the last five years, Stripes has raised $2.6 million through their cut-out campaign.
Premature births affect nearly half a million babies each year. The March of Dimes is committed to reducing this number by funding research to find answers to premature birth and providing comfort and information to families who are affected.
