CORPUS CHRISTI - The city's new Street User Fee Task Force had their first meeting today.
The force is made up of four council members, the city manager, and other city staffers.
They mainly discussed how to determine what to charge businesses.
Homeowners are already looking at a $7 monthly fee.
The task force discussed trying to lower that fee by looking at additional funding sources and re-directing money from the general fund.
That could mean making cuts in other city services and departments.
And if the fee isn't lowered immediately, the city believes it could be lowered gradually over the next few years.
The task force will meet again in two weeks.
